Artricia Therapy is committed to promoting the safety, wellbeing and rights of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Safeguarding is central to all therapeutic, supervisory, training, consultancy and research activities. Every effort is made to provide safe, respectful and supportive environments where children, young people and adults feel heard, valued and protected.
Whilst confidentiality is respected, there may be occasions where information needs to be shared if there are concerns regarding the safety or wellbeing of a child, young person or vulnerable adult, or where there is a legal, ethical or professional duty to do so. Wherever possible, information sharing will be discussed with the individual concerned, unless doing so would increase risk or compromise safety.
Artricia Therapy works in accordance with relevant Scottish legislation, national guidance and local safeguarding procedures, including the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014, the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 and the National Guidance for Child Protection in Scotland 2021 (updated 2023).
Practice is informed by the principles of Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC), with a focus on promoting wellbeing, early intervention and collaborative working in the best interests of children and young people.
Safeguarding concerns will always be responded to appropriately and in a timely manner, with the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults remaining the primary consideration.
As a HCPC-registered Art Therapist and BAAT-approved practitioner and supervisor, Dr Patricia Watts is committed to maintaining safe, ethical and accountable practice and undertakes regular safeguarding training and professional development to ensure knowledge and practice remain current.
Artricia Therapy recognises the importance of privacy and confidentiality in building safe and trusting therapeutic and supervisory relationships.
Information shared during therapy, supervision, consultation, training and research activities will be treated confidentially and stored securely in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Fees are discussed and agreed in advance of services commencing.
Payment is accepted by bank transfer and can be made either following each session or via a monthly invoice, depending on the service provided.
Appointments are offered by agreement and may take place face-to-face, online or by telephone.
Session frequency and duration will be determined according to individual, professional or organisational needs.
If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please provide at least 48 hours' notice wherever possible.
Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice may be charged at the full session fee. Exceptional circumstances will be considered on an individual basis.
A limited number of reduced-fee spaces may be available for individuals and families who would benefit from a sliding scale arrangement. Availability cannot be guaranteed.
Artricia Therapy operates in accordance with the standards and guidance of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT).
ARTricia Therapy reserves the right to review and update these Terms & Conditions where necessary.
Artricia Therapy aims to provide a high-quality, professional and responsive service.
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the service, concerns should be raised directly with Artricia Therapy in the first instance so that they can be discussed and, where possible, resolved informally.
If a concern cannot be resolved, a formal complaint may be submitted in writing.
As a HCPC-registered Art Therapist and BAAT member, Dr Patricia Watts is accountable to the professional standards, ethics and conduct requirements of these organisations. Information regarding relevant complaints procedures can be found on the HCPC and BAAT websites.
