Supervision is an essential part of safe and effective practice with children and young people. This can be offered to individual practitioners or teams as one off sessions, or regular appointments.
The supervisory approach puts the needs of children and young people at the centre of practice with a focus on safeguarding, risk assessment and risk management within therapists caseloads, as well as thinking about the content and progress of the therapeutic work.
Supervision is also a support to individual practitioners and teams to help them to develop their skills and confidence, reflect on their practice, and think about their own learning and development needs.
Supervision discussions are informed by current practice, policy, legislation and relevant theoretical frameworks to support the needs of practitioners and enhance their reflection and personal development within supervision.
Supervision sessions can take place face-to -face, over the phone or online.
